Project Summery
JP Industries designed and built a Canopy Walk – A landmark project, this structure ranks as the second-longest walkway of its kind globally and the first in Africa. Spanning a 2.5-kilometer route, it features 3 suspended bridges and 7 scenic deck viewing areas. A total of 650 metric tons of material was manually transported and installed, making it a one-of-a-kind achievement on the continent.
Overview & Challenge
This iconic Eco-Tourism project required building a canopy walkway atop a mountainous forest terrain, presenting significant challenges in terms of accessibility, environmental sensitivity, and engineering logistics. Transporting materials to elevated, forested areas while preserving the natural habitat demanded meticulous planning. The structural design also had to ensure minimal ground impact and maximum visitor safety at high elevations.
